Tac-Force Drag Bag
![]()
New item from Tac-Force listed here first at savvysurvivor.com More details to come.
Tac-Force has
recently released a new line of professional quality full featured drag bags at
groundbreaking prices. Easily comparable to drag bags costing well
over $200, the Tac-Force bag is priced at a very competitive $159 retail, and
here at savvysurvivor.com, the deal is $125 shipped.
The drag bag is made to easily fit up to 46" rifles, and can stretch a bit to hold slightly longer guns depending on how they are configured. This is easily compatible with the M14/M21, most AR10s, Remington 700 variants, and similar sized rifles. It will not hold larger .50 caliber rifles and we recommend the Specops Brand HAZ- MAT for those larger rifles like the Barrett M82.
A Sniper rifle drag bag differs from a regular soft rifle case in a lot of ways. First, they are generally much more durable and built for extended use in a field environment. In the real world, a sniper will not always be using the sniper rifle as his primary weapon. Quite often, the sniper rifle is only going to be used on the target objective, and some other weapon will be used in transit to and from the target objective area. A SWAT unit, Special Forces team or even a survivalist group may not have a full time dedicated sniper, but in fact have one or two individuals who have trained as competent snipers and can take on that role when and if needed. These people not only need a single storage and transport bag for the weapon, but also for the related equipment that is usually needed on a sniper mission. This includes what can be a lot of stuff to get the job done right. Also consider that unlike regular infantry and tactical operators, the sniper's emphasis on stealth may often preclude wearing a conventional tactical vest or load bearing rig because they are not compatible with ghillie suits often worn by military snipers, while police snipers, survivalists, security personnel and target shooters will often need to move through semi-public places in a discreet manner while carrying their weapon and equipment. Sometimes, this can be over some moderately long distances.
Hence, the drag bag,
originally conceived to aid the military sniper in stalking through brush while
wearing full camouflage and a minimum of personal gear. The military
sniper would literally drag this bag along as he crawls to a position to
shoot. That bag also needs to contain ammunition, spare magazines, a
spotting scope, rangefinder, data cards, radio, bipod, cleaning supplies,
rations, water bottle, and maybe even a spare optic. That means the
bag also has to carry a lot of weight. In addition to drag handles
at the shrouded front which prevents sticks and debris from damaging the zipper
or prying it open, there are the common "suitcase handles" and bottom
of the bag has a set of backpack straps that can be stowed under a large flap so
that the bottom of the bag is smooth enough to drag easily along the
ground.

The
top/back of the bag has two large zippered pouches. One will hold
just about any common spotting scope and small tripod, while the other will hold
most binoculars and range finders. Both are also large enough to
have room left over for other items, while the smaller square pouch has
additional organizer pockets. There is also an ammunition pouch
built into the main gun compartment.
The Tac-Force drag bag is now available only in solid colors with no immediate plans for making them in a camouflage pattern. These colors, however, are all compatible with most camouflage patterns and it is easy to improve on them by attaching burlap material to the loops on the bag. Available colors are black, OD green, and Tan. Like other Tac-Force tans, the tan color is more of a Coyote color than the lighter pinkish tan used by US makers. We are generally keeping several in each color in stock at any given time.
